How can you know that you are going to Heaven? You must first realize the seriousness of your sin. Romans 3:10 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not on.” You and everyone else have sinned. We all are aware of that fact. We know we have done wrong and broken God’s commands. This is serious because God said, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." ~Romans 6:2. Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." All who sin, which is all of us, deserve death. Scripture teaches that the death we deserve is a spiritual death experienced forever in a terrible but real place called hell. Revelation 21:8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." Many have tried to rid themselves of their guilt and sin by attempting to change their lives. They may quit doing the things they know to be wrong, or at least try to. At the same time many try to add things to their lives in order to make up for their sin and get rid of guilt. They may start going to a church, keep the golden rule, or do good works at home, on the job or in their community. Any attempt to justify ourselves is really a misunderstanding of God’s plan for man to be saved. God provided a way for us to be to go to Heaven and His way is the only way. John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Only God can change a heart and make us fit for Heaven. Scripture says, Romans 10:10 "For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." You see God became a man named Jesus. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." ~John 1:1,14. Jesus never committed sin. Jesus did not deserve to die but He suffered death on a cross. Jesus died in the place you deserved for the sin you committed. Jesus paid your death penalty at the cross even when you were unaware of the seriousness of your sin. "But God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." ~Romans 5:8 To go to heaven you must be delivered from [saved] from the penalty of your sin, which is God justly gives everyone that rejects Him unbelief. To go to heaven you must believe that Jesus died and rose again and that you have nothing, zero to add to His finished work on the cross. You must believe that Jesus rose again and will make you right before him if you, by faith, believe right now. The Bible says in Titus 3:3, "For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit." You see only God saves, you can’t even help. You must by faith believe that God is gracious to give you what you could never deserve. Read this Scripture carefully: Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast." Are you ready now to trust God to save you?Do you believe Jesus died in your place and rose again? Are you willing to turn in faith to Jesus and turn away from your sin and self righteousness? Do you know that it is God that saves and that His spirit will come into you to reside forever and rule your life? Call out to God to save you now, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." ~Romans 10:9 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” ~Romans 10:13 You can pray from your heart something like this. Heavenly Father, I know I am a sinner deserving of death and hell. I know that I have nothing to offer you and all my good works could never make me right before you. I believe that Jesus died in my place so that my sin debt could be paid. I believe that you are alive and will to place your spirit in me. I believe you will change my heart and give me the free gift of eternal life. I now invite you to be my Lord, make me right before you. My trust is in what you have done for me at the cross and this day. I trust that what you have done is enough to save. You are Lord, I repent of my selfish pride and sin and know based on your promises in the Bible that you save all those who call upon you. In the Jesus’ name I pray, Amen. If you called out to God in belief, then you are now a child of God. Welcome to the Family of GodRemember this day and be sure to record this date. Today is your spiritual birth day. You entered God’s family by receiving the Lord Jesus as Lord and Savior and now have all the privileges of being a child of God including the assurance of heaven. Here are some things to grow on: You will always be God’s child. This is the greatest privilege. “I give them eternal life and they shall never perish; either shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.” ~ John 10:28-30 You can be certain of Eternal life, this is the greatest security. “These things I have written to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.” ~1 John 5:12-13 God keeps a record of this day. “Rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” ~Luke 10:20 Spend time each day reading the Bible. Start in the New Testament. Read 1 John to begin with. After that, read through the New Testament, starting with the first book--Matthew. “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of
the word, that you may grow thereby 3if indeed you have tasted that
the Lord is gracious.” “Spend time each day talking to the Lord, this is prayer.” ~Jeremiah 31:3 “Pray without ceasing” ~1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Publicly profess the Lord Jesus through Baptism.” ~Matthew 28:18-20 “Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.” ~Acts 2:41 Tell others about your decision as soon as you can. “Therefore, whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in Heaven.” ~Matthew 10:32 Get involved in a Bible teaching church this Sunday. “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” ~Acts 2:42 LET US KNOW OF YOUR SALVATION by emailing us at syirka@hibernia-baptist.org
